How to fix peeling concrete floor
Cracked concrete floors have many causes.
- Concrete mix grade is too low (Lots of sand, stone, less cement, do not use strength additives)
- Mixed concrete is too loose (a lot of water)
- Concrete surface covered with 1 layer of lake
- The concrete surface is pitted - rock out due to rain when pouring concrete
Therefore, you need to carefully check the quality of the concrete block below the peeling part (should effervescent the peeling layer) to determine exactly for an effective reinforcement solution.
Note:
- Good quality concrete: Is concrete with high hardness, use a hard object to scrape the sand concrete without dropping sand (or the sand falls out insignificantly)
- Poor quality concrete: It is concrete with poor hardness, using a hard object to scrape the concrete, the sand will fall out, the more you scrape it, the more defective it will be.
I) Measures to treat the concrete foundation is peeling but underneath the peeling layer is good quality concrete
- Use a specialized concrete ground grinder to grind away all the peeling surface to a good concrete layer.
- Use C3M dust repellent to cover the surface of the ground concrete to prevent dust.
(See How to treat dusty concrete with LB Chemistry's C3M Dustproof)
II) For the foundation that needs local repair (only repair damaged areas)
- Spray water on the area to be repaired - wipe away the water with a brush - Let it dry
- Use LB Chemistry 3rd generation self-leveling mortar (VFLOOR3 self-leveling mortar)
The advantage of VFLOOR3 self-leveling mortar is high adhesion, thin positions from 2mm - 5mm.
Hope you are succesful
