how to stop dust concrete floor
Preparation step: Before proceeding with background processing, you need to prepare the following:
1) Anti-dust additive "C3M"
2) Extendable Paint Roller Extra Long Roller Brush Aluminium Handle 230mm SIL220
3) 18 liter barrel
4) Hard broom for concrete
5) Expandable Garden Hose
6) Employees perform: With a large area, many people need to be arranged
Step 1: Clean the floor
Use a hose to wet the entire surface of the floor
Use a scrub brush to remove the white cement layer from the surface of the concrete floor. If the cement layer does not come off after scrubbing, use a strong bristle brush.
Note:
When using a bristle brush, do not worry about damaging the concrete surface. If the concrete is of good quality, the surface is very hard.
If the sand keeps coming off the concrete surface during brushing, it means the concrete quality is poor (too young). You need to reprocess the concrete surface. See instructions in the following article. Step 2: Wait for the floor to dry
In the case of a ventilated floor that dries quickly: proceed to Step 3
In the case of a non-ventilated floor that takes a long time to dry: open all doors if available. Use a fan to blow the floor.
Step 3: Check the floor for dust after cleaning
The floor is considered clean when there is no more dust - as clean as the floor in a bedroom.
If the floor is not clean, the cleaning job is not satisfactory and needs to be redone.
Note:
If the cleaning is not thorough and dust remains on the floor, the product will peel off during use.
Step 4: Pour C3M dustproofing material from the container into an 18-liter bucket
For large floor areas, prepare the number of buckets equal to the number of workers.
Step 5: Divide the area for each worker to perform
For a large floor area, divide the floor vertically or horizontally to suit the number of workers (each person will be in charge of one line).
Step 6: Apply the first layer of C3M dustproofing material using a roller
The worker arranges the rollers in a row and dips them into the bucket of C3M dustproofing material to roll each long strip according to the divided area (roll like painting). Roll back and forth 2-3 times, moving evenly until the end of the line for each person in charge.
Note:
The first layer must be rolled forward and then rolled back because the floor usually absorbs a lot of moisture.
Do not pour the additive onto the floor and then roll (this is the wrong way some workers do it). The coating will be too thick to dry.
Step 7: Wait for the first coat to dry completely
For a breathable surface: Drying time of 6-8 hours
For a non-breathable surface: Drying time of 24-36 hours (use a fan for support)
Note:
Only proceed to the next step when the first coat is completely dry
Step 8: Apply the second coat of C3M dustproofing material
Similar to the first coat, the workers line up and dip the long roller into the C3M dustproofing material, rolling it along each designated area 2-3 times, and making sure to evenly cover the area until the responsible person's line is finished.
Note:
For the second coat, only roll in one direction and do not roll back because the surface is less absorbent. Step 8: Wait for the second coat to dry completely
For a breathable surface: Drying time of 12-24 hours
For a non-breathable surface: Drying time of 48 hours or more (use a fan for support) Step 9: Check the finish surface
The painted surface meets the requirements when the surface is completely dry and there is no stickiness or glossy marks.
The painted surface does not meet the requirements when the surface is not dry, and there is a phenomenon of white powder (caused by too thick of a paint layer).
Treatment:
Use a fan to blow air onto the powdery areas to support drying. After drying, use a damp cloth to wipe away the white powder.
For areas that cannot dry (due to too thick of a paint layer), use a scraper to remove all of the paint in that area and then re-roll.
In addition to the dustproofing and improved surface gloss, the product from LB Chemistry also increases the hardness of the concrete surface.
Wishing you a successful completion of the project.
